About My Practice

As a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas I am trained to listen, nurture and work with you. This might be repairing relationships, healing from trauma, recovering from addiction, and managing anxiety or depression.  I see clients both face to face in my office as well as online within the state of Texas through HIPAA-compliant confidential video. Clients come to therapy when life is not working. Joining with a therapist allows patterns to be investigated and altered, insight to be gained and distress to be tolerated. With guidance, clients set goals for therapy and I work to meet those goals. They are a benchmark for progress.

Using a variety of modalities to help facilitate change - Cognitive Behavior Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Person-Centered and Solution-Focused is effective for different goals and treatment plans. I also use a variety of tools to help in therapy such as the Enneagram, worksheets, relaxation exercises.

I received my Master's in Counseling from the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas. Prior to receiving my graduate degree, I worked professionally for area non-profits and businesses for the past 20 years.

In my current focus as a counselor, I bring a strong desire to help others through non-judgmental, empathic listening and confidence in a person's ability to find solutions when true authenticity is engaged. My graduate studies at the Seminary of the Southwest complement my mental health training so, if desired,  my counseling approach involves both mental and spiritual health.

Finding time to meet can be a challenge in Austin so I offer online counseling to residents of Texas. This can be an efficient and private opportunity to continue therapy in a safe place at times that are beneficial to the client.

Face to face clients meet at my office at 1301 S. Capital of Texas Highway, Suite C-100 central Austin.
